Qualifications/Training/Employment
I have worked in the arts for over 30years and am a qualified and experienced:-
art teacher/trainer, community artist, project manager, events coordinator. I have managed and delivered creative projects/workshops/events in a wide range of visual arts with all ages from pre-school families through to advanced stage dementia elders.
I carried out research across West Africa then published a resource book
'The heART of West Africa' and set up an art department and curriculum in a school in Nigeria; I have being successful in public art commissions, curated exhibitions, designed booklets, managed indoor/outdoor events.
My own art practice is in site and time specific installation and performance. I turn an ordinary object into an extra-ordinary one to engage people in questioning place and social politics, often with humour!
I have exhibited or performed in pubs, parks, on the street, at festivals, in empty shops, charity shops, a quarry, mill, village halls, shopping centre, allotment, fourth plinth, cafes, a wood, dance centre, health centre, council offices….. as well as galleries.
